Abstract

A choropleth of estimated national population across the European states. Administrative boundaries are joined to the population figures at build time on the country name, and the polygons are graded along a sequential scale. The edition demonstrates the engine's area cartography: the CSV carries one value per region and is bound to a reference boundary set, so the same page renders any region-keyed quantity without code changes.

Provenance & sources

Boundaries are the public-domain Natural Earth 1:110m admin-0 set (simplified; coordinates rounded), restricted to the European continent and excluding the Russian Federation for framing. Population figures are the Natural Earth POP_EST estimates, joined to the polygons on country name. The dataset is illustrative of area cartography, not an authoritative demographic source.
